so i noticed this thing when i would be typing i would just stop mid-sentence before continuing to type, instead of just typing straight
i thought ok - i am just not good enough, gotta work harder on my consitency
so i would say myself, i won’t stop, i will type this straight
so that’s what i did, it worked, but not really, well i would be able to do it, but my body would be like no, my central nervous system would go crazy
i would literally feel it on the surface of my feet, in my legs and my eye brows contracting while i would force myself to keep it up
so i was like, okay, this is not normal
i do have cervical dystonia in my neck, so i know that this can make my nervous system behave a bit odd when there is too much going on, but typing cmon
so there is this one other thing that i noticed, where when i would look between 2 different points in world space as fast as i could the same thing would happen and my cns would go crazy and end up triggering random spasms all over the place
i was telling gemini 3 thinking that and it would tell me that when the brain tells the eyes to look around it would actually also tell the neck to look around
now this is crucial cuz when that neck controller is broken but its called on every operation of the eye controller, well that means when you look around a lot with your eyes you trigger a lot of stuff in your neck too, when that is broken your body has to balance that out and if its too much => overflow
and that is what would happen
which lead to the question, if its the eye-movement that is causing this, wouldn’t reducing or removing the eye-movement fix it
and indeed if i would close my eyes or look somewhere else on the screen this wouldn’t be a thing
which got me thinking, how would i type without moving the cursor so i can hyper focus on one spot without following the cursor word by word and overfloat my cns
the answer is a typewriter: the cursor is locked down
you don’t follow the cursor on the screen, the text / content follows the cursor behind it
i type a word, the content shifts to the left vs i type a word and I have to move my gaze to the right
so i had claude write me a simple html page to test that and oh well it worked
then i had it turn that into a native macos app and there we are : typing.fixed
no i press ctrl+tab to bring it up on any input as a system overlay and cmd+enter insert into the last focused input
typing fixed
this was typed in typing.fixed btw, best typing exp on a computer since i learned touch typing
