i was looking for a widget that would give me a full week’s look ahead to see if there are any good nights for stargazing, considering:
- by which time will it be dark?
- sunrise/sunset & twilight times
- when is the moon going to show up, is it going to be too bright?
- moonrise/moonset & moon phase
- are there going to be clouds?
- weather
most apps i tried didn’t really focus on nights, didn’t provide a full week view or wouldn’t expose a useful widget, so i ended up building my own chart:
- row: solar events ☉
- daylight
- civil twilight
- nautical twilight
- astronomical twilight
- night
- row: lunar events
- moon up
- moon down
- moon phase
- row: weather
- partial cloud coverage ~
- full cloud coverage ≈
- clear skies
